Hello guys, how are you? I hope you're doing well. In this post, I want to tell you about my activities during this pandemic. As we know, this pandemic causes us to not be able to go anywhere, so we must stay at home.
Anyhow, it's not great if you keep doing nothing at home. However, at home, I feel a little bored. Can't go out, to meet friends. Thus, I try to learn new things that I am really curious about. As usual, this is still related to IT and information security. So lately I'm trying a new platform to learn hacking, which is TryHackMe. I know this one because of my favorite IT Sec YouTubers, John Hammond. Initially, I saw from his video that explains this platform. I was interested because they provided the concept of study space or they called room which categorized several things and different levels. Then, TryHackMe also provides premium features that we can get on a Kali live server, which can be accessed anywhere.
Incredible, isn't it? It doesn't hurt, it's worth trying, yall who want to learn or the advanced one can visit their platform through this link
Okay, apart from TryHackMe, I am now also learning deeper about low-level exploitation such as memory corruption and reverse engineering. The reason I learned this wasn't to go with web security directly like other people do because I really like things that are fundamental. In the past, when I took a programming class, people were busy asking how to make a calculator application or library information system, and so on. While I myself am thinking of how to make an operating system like Windows? From there I began to recognize assembly language. We can explore so much with this low level language. At the beginning, I know it's quite a scary topic, but if you are used to it, believe me, it turns out to be a fairly simple concept. Those of you who are interested in low-level exploitation can try the problem in the root-me.org or tuts4you, they provide such a wonderful challenges.
Besides doing things related to IT, now I also have more time with my family. Spending time exchanging ideas with parents turned out to be fun.
I might not get this much studying time and being with my family if there wasn't a pandemic. Still, I hope that this pandemic period will soon pass and we can move on as usual.
Keep healthy, and happy hacking!
